FUTUROSCOPE - FRANCE - 2004

Creation of an entirely new Dynamic Theater Attraction

Le Meilleur du Dynamique!

The Dynamic Cinema attraction continues to hold its value at Futuroscope, near Poitiers, France. Screen Brilliance has been involved in virtually all of Futuroscope's forays into this special format, and the latest is no exception. This time, it was a matter of completely re-creating a theater - transforming an older, bench seat 4 axis system to a modern, full 6-axis Maxi Motion system.

Screen Brilliance assumed the project management from the first conceptual drawings, through the building works, to the final installations, adjustments and programming of the ride. The complexity of the refit operation was in many ways greater than that involved in an entirely new construction.

The theater, designed for one type of equipment, had to be completely re-dimensioned to accommodate a different type of seating. This is always a risk, and detailed conceptual drawings must be produced to be sure it will work out. The moment pictured at left would have been a very inopportune time to discover some flaw in the original concept drawings! That's why clients like Futuroscope turn to Screen Brilliance for complex projects - Only through the experience of having led many projects from beginning to end, can one be sure to properly foresee all the  technical constraints and considerations necessary to see it through to a successful conclusion.
AutoCad drawings and computer simulations were used extensively in the conceptual phase of the project. In the drawing at left, one can see the study of the new concrete structure, remodeled from the existing. The platform size, rise and run and door spacing had to be recalculated in a manner which was both functional and economical. Handicapped access was also a major issue - not included in the existing theater, yet necessary in anything built today.
